Born in Belgium, Anne Chapelle (57) studied the nurse program at the Institute of Tropical Medicine. Consequently she worked in Congo contributing to a leper and tuberculosis project but had to come back to Belgium for health reasons. She then moved to the Netherlands to follow a neonatology degree and worked there in intensive care units.

After 5 years, Anne Chapelle returned to Belgium where she started a successful pharmaceutical career, during which she was responsible of the application of nuclear technologies. As to be closer to her family, she then sold her company.

In 1994, the fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester asked for her help with the building up of her brand. Today Anne Chapelle is the CEO and owner of the companies of the brands Ann Demeulemeester and Haider Ackermann. Next to an impressive but steady growth with international resonance, emphasis in the company is put on respecting values, cherishing young creative and professionals and providing them a framework to unfurl their talents.

With over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, Anne Chapelle has now enlisted bvba32 within the United Nations Global Compact program, a platform which convenes companies to support fundamental principles in the areas of human rights, labor rights, environment and anti-corruption.
