Barbara Millicent Roberts–more famously known as Barbie®–is a fashion doll and figurehead of Mattel. Since 1959, she has been recognised as the original teenage fashion model. Over the past 60 years, she has established herself as one of the world's leading fashion icons. Barbie has been dressed by designers including Prada, Burberry, Chanel, Roksanda Ilinčić and Danielle Scutt; more than 100 million metres of fabric have gone into making her wardrobe and she has had over one billion pairs of shoes, including a pair created by Christian Louboutin.

She first broke the plastic ceiling in the sixties when, as an astronaut, she went to space four years before man walked on the moon. In the eighties she took to the boardroom as Day to Night™ CEO Barbie®, just as women began to break into management. In the nineties, she ran for President, before any female candidate ever made it onto the presidential ballot. Later, Barbie® took on several new careers, including: snowboarder, ballroom dancer and race car driver. She also joined SHOWstudio.com as an intern in September 2010.
