Bea Sweet is a British make-up artist. Sweet was born and raised in Essex, but relocated to London in 2009 to study at The London College of Fashion, where she undertook a BA (Hons) in Makeup and Prosthetics. While there, she spent three years casting faces and body parts, and making wigs, beards and prosthetics. While studying Sweet began freelancing full time as a makeup artist for fashion and editorial shoots.
Sweet's career highlights so far include shooting Olympia Campbell for Vogue Japan alongside photographer Saga Sig. Recently, Sweet has been collaborating with stylist Simon Foxton who has put her forward for a number of projects.
Sweet is notable for her interest in characters and real people. She is interested in promoting a varied vision of femininty, which goes against the ideals put forward by the mainstream media. She notes, 'I am obsessed with women, no matter what form they come in. I think diversity should be celebrated and when I get a chance to show this in my work I go for it. There’s more than one type of beauty.'
This project is a celebration of femininity, even though it's not what we understand to be female.
