Celine (formerly Céline) is a luxury fashion house founded by Céline Vipiana in 1945. Originally a luxury children's footwear brand, Céline expanded to incorporate a women's ready-to-wear line featuring luxurious sport-influenced separates. In 2004, British designer Phoebe Philo took over from Michael Kors as creative director. Philo was credited with reviving the brand and establishing a highly covetable minimalist aesthetic.

In 2017, Philo left the house and was replaced by Hedi Slimane. Formerly creative director of Saint Laurent, Slimane brought his rock 'n' roll aesthetic with him and dropped the accent from the house's name, heralding in a new era.
