Charles Anastase

Fashion Designer

Born in 1979 to a French academic mother and an Armenian architect father, Charles Anastase studied Political Sciences at the Lycée Charlemagne in Paris and began his career as an artist in 2002. He also attended the school of La Cambre from 1997 to 1999 in Brussels. His poignant pencil drawings were shown around the world in a series of exhibitions in Paris, Vienna, Tokyo and Mexico and appeared in prestigious magazines including Purple and Dazed and Confused.

His fashion designs are worn by clients as varied as Keira Knightley, Beth Ditto, Alexa Chung and Yoko Ono, and his collections are inspired by the beauty of Victorian drawings. The culmination of this recognition was the use of his illustrations in a Calvin Klein advertising campaign in 2004.
