Establishing his house in 1988, Christian Lacroix is one of France's most famous fashion designers, building a reputation for a celebratory and incredibly rich approach to fabric, cut and colour and meeting the baroque with modernity. Amongst his signatures are pouf skirts and showstopping gowns confected from tulle, velvet and lace.

Lacroix's fashion house closed in 2009. Since then, he has worked in interiors and creating costumes for theatrical performances. He collaborated with Dries Van Noten on Van Noten's S/S 20 ready-to-wear collection.
