Establishing his house in 1988, Christian Lacroix is one of France's most famous fashion designers, building a reputation for a celebratory and incredibly rich approach to fabric, cut and colour and meeting the baroque with modernity. With signatures including pouf skirts and showstopping gowns confected from tulle, velvet and lace, Lacroix stopped designing for his couture and ready-to-wear lines in 2010, and Christian Lacroix currently produces solely menswear which is designed by Lacroix's long term assistant designer Sacha Walckhoff.
