Era-defining model Cindy Crawford was born Cynthia Ann Crawford in 1966 in Illinois, USA. She began modelling at fifteen years old, and became one of the new breed of so-called 'supermodel', appearing on over 600 magazine covers worldwide. Her 'supermodel' status was further established by shoots such as the 'supermodels' Vogue cover in 1988, and George Michael's video for 'Freedom' in 1990. Crawford embraced endorsement contracts with multinationals such as Omega, Revlon, and Pepsi. She hosted MTVs' fashion programme 'House of Style', and promoted a wholesome persona through her wealth of fitness videos. In 1995 she made a film debut with 'Fair Game', alongside William Baldwin. Crawford to made a catwalk comeback in Milan in July 2000 for friend Roberto Cavalli.
