Courtney Love

Musician

San Francisco-born, Portland-raised Courtney Love came to fame in the early nineties grunge scene. She rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the band Hole, formed in 1989, and first drew public attention for her uninhibited live performances and confrontational lyrics. She is also widely known for her highly publicised personal life, particularly her tumultuous marriage to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Aside from music, Love has acted in films and television, notably The People Vs. Larry Flynt (1996), and the series Empire, Sons of Anarchy and Revenge. Love also created a capsule fashion collection in collaboration with Midnight Studios in 2018.

In 2020, NME named her 'one of the most influential singers in alternative culture of the last 30 years.' Love continues to make music, her new track, Mother, being recently released as part of the soundtrack for the new horror film The Turning (2020).
