Born in Ireland in 1920, Edward Quinn moved to the French Riviera in the fifties and began photographing celebrities who allowed him to document their spontaneity off-camera. He captured the essence of Marlon Brando, Grace Kelly and Brigitte Bardot to name but a few, but his most famous celebrity relationship was with Pablo Picasso. Quinn was hugely influenced by Picasso and has subsequently authored several films and books about him.
