Elisabeth Arkhipoff is an artist who lives and works in Paris. She was born on the Ivory Coast in 1973 to a Russian father and an Armenian mother, and went on to study Contemporary Literature and Philosophy, before starting her career as an artist in 2000. Her practice embraces music, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and video in multimedia installations which explore the functioning of identity groups such as new agers, hippies, teenagers, rockers, pop fans, and fashion addicts, who seek individuality and recognition. She has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, Paris and the Rooseum-Center of Contemporary Art in Malmö, Sweden. Her art works have been published in several catalogues and magazines including Frieze, Süddeutsche Zeitung, IDEA, ZOO, Dazed & Confused and Studio Voice.
