Elizabeth Wurtzel

Raised in New York city, Elizabeth Wurtzel (1967-2020) was a writer known for her highly confessional books, that include Prozac Nation (1994), which detailed her own depression in early adolescence; and Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women (1998). Wurtzel also wrote for a number of newspapers including the Wall Street Journal and the Guardian and magazines including ELLE and New York Magazine. A trained lawyer, Wurtzel has practiced at several firms in New York City from 2008 onwards. She died from breast cancer in 2020.
