Emma Reeves

Director of Photography

Emma Reeves is a photographic director. From 1999 until 2007 Reeves was photo director at independent publishing company, the Dazed Group, founded by Jefferson Hack and photographer Rankin. She oversaw all photo commissioning and production at Dazed&Confused and also helped create the bi-annual publications Another Magazine and Another Man

Previously, Reeves worked in documentaries and TV production in London before joining Gorgeous Enterprises, an advertising production company, from 1996-1999, working with director Frank Budgen on his seminal work for Playstation and Guinness, as well as multiple award winning commercials with Chris Palmer.

Reeves has an extensive background as a creative consultant working across all aspects of cultural communication and new media in the print, digital and live space. As a consultant past clients have included Nike, Levi’s, Selfridges, Colette, Uniqlo and others.

In 2012 she became the creative director of MOCAtv, part of the YouTube original content initiative funded by Google, radically changing the landscape of access to art in the digital realm while managing and creating digital engagements. Whilst at MOCA, Emma programmed and oversaw production on the game changing, interdisciplinary cultural festival Step and Repeat in 2014 and 2015 that attracted several thousand attendees.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Emma lived in New York and ran the branding agency Li, Inc, working alongside Patrick Li for three years. The agency specializes in graphic design, brand identity and exquisite printed collateral for fashion and art world clients.

Since 2017 Emma Reeves has been executive director of Free The Bid, a 501c3 non-profit initiative, founded by director Alma Har’el, advocating on behalf of women directors for equal opportunities to bid on commercial jobs in the global advertising industry.
