Founded by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952, the house of Givenchy is one of the most prestigious fashion, fragrance and beauty houses in the world. Famed for dressing icon Audrey Hepburn in some of her most memorable roles including those for Sabrina and Breakfast at Tiffany's, Givenchy also dressed some of the most famous and beautiful women of royalty, politics and film.
Retiring in 1995, Givenchy was succeeded at first by John Galliano who became the first Englishman since Charles Frederick Worth to design haute couture in Paris. Upon Galliano's transition to the house of Christian Dior, Givenchy enlisted fellow British fashion superstar Alexander McQueen, bringing to the house his own brand of controversy, beauty and poetry.
Made creative director for Givenchy in 2005, Italian designer Riccardo Tisci leads the house's haute couture and ready-to-wear lines, incorporating aspects of global street culture as well as utilising the Givenchy atelier's incredible craftsmanship for his couture gowns.
