British actress Gwendoline Christie graduated from drama school in 2005 and lives in London. Her striking height, 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m), inspired photographer Polly Borland to make her the subject of a noted series of photographs. Christie's theatrical career includes an appearance in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Great Expectations and Pravada, and last year she played the the Queen in Cymbeline at the Barbican. On screen, she has landed supporting roles in the BBC TV production, The Seven Ages of Britain, and in July 2011, she was cast as the warrior Brienne of Tarth in the second season of HBO's fantasy TV series Game of Thrones.
