Hamish Morrow

Fashion Designer

Fashion designer Hamish Morrow was born in South Africa in 1968. He moved to London in 1989 to study at Central Saint Martins but left the course partly through financial difficulties. He began a freelance career designing and pattern-cutting. In 1996, he resumed his studies, enrolling at the Royal College of Art, where he obtained an MA in Menswear Fashion Design.

Following graduation, he worked in ateliers in New York, Paris and Milan, giving him a strong international grounding. In 2000, Morrow returned to London to launch his own label. He came to the attention of the press with his second collection, The Life Cycle of an Idea for A/W 01.

He has collaborated with a number of internationally-renowned design houses including haute couture at Louis Feraud, menswear at Fendi, and working alongside Mariuccia Mandelli at Krizia. Morrow produced a capsule collection for British high street chain Topshop, and a range of men's and women's headwear and accessories for the Kangol White Collection.

In 2015-2016, he worked at Lanvin with Alber Elbaz, including on the latter's final show for the house. After Lanvin, he headed up VIP dressing at Burberry, and in 2019 he joined Maison Margiela as head of womenswear pre-collections.
