Heather Blake graduated from Manchester University in 1990 with a degree in Fine Art, going on to teach art in schools and colleges throughout London and Hong Kong. In 2002 she left Hong Kong and returned to London to train as a footwear designer at Cordwainers College. After completing her diploma in 2003 she went onto work with bespoke shoemakers Forster & Son, continuing her studies at the Royal College of Art in 2004. During the summer of 2005 she worked with Alberta Ferretti, designing shoes for both mainline and ‘Philosophy’ collections. She graduated with a Masters degrees in 2006 and her final graduation collection was awarded the Accessories Collection of the Year at ITS#5 in Trieste, Italy. For ITS#6 in 2007 Blake produces a new collection, on which she collaborated with Italian shoemaker Salvatore Ferragamo. Blake continues to undertake freelance work for various footwear companies and has also taught at the London College of Fashion and Ravensbourne College.
