Joseph Szabo

Joseph Szabo is a photographer, known primarily for his collection of photographs taken during the 1970s of typical youth in America - all of which culminate in his two books Teenage and Almost Grown. One of his most renowned images, Priscilla, captures an unknown young girl with a cigarette dangling from her lips; it also adorns the cover of the band Dinosaur Jr's album.

Szabo received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and his photographs are permanent collections within the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yale University and the International Centre of Photography. Szabo also taught photography for over twenty years at a high school in New York.
