Kat Thiel

Artist

Kat Thiel is a designer, researcher and curator at London design collective Peut-Porter with a curatorial focus on technology and digital innovation. She curates and programmes for the LCF Arts Programme at Arcade East and Fashion Space Gallery. Kat is Visiting Lecturer at MA Fashion RCA.

A designer, fashion researcher and curator, Thiel’s practice spans various media and looks at fashion through the lens of technology, investigating the tense space between control and agency/comfort and branding; and thereby exposing fashion’s impact on social behaviour within technocratic, market driven systems.

Thiel has been involved with the Goethe Institut Dubai, Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and the Design Museum London. She teaches at the Royal College of Art, London College of Fashion, University of the West of England and Ravensbourne and is a former artist in residence at Space Studio's Art and Technology programme CoLAB.
