Artist

Katie Hindle is an artist, lecturer and researcher. Alongside work at Goldsmiths, University of London, Hindle also teaches Foundation Art and Design at the Newcastle Upon Tyne studios of Northumberland College and acts as co-director of Freedman Arts.

While Hindle’s research focuses on visual communication in fashion and its relationship to digital technology, her art practice explores feminine visual culture by reflecting her own fascination with fashion photography. Projects include the creation and delivery of Contemporary Art School, an innovative short course drawing on the BALTIC Centre of Contemporary Art archives, run in conjunction with BALTIC and Northumberland College.

Hindle was selected for a special commendation in the Photomediations Open Call, which saw her work presented as part of its 2017 Berlin exhibition.
