Krizia

Fashion Designer

Krizia is an Italian fashion brand. Previously a schoolteacher, Italian fashion designer Mariuccia Mandelli showed her first collection for Krizia in 1957. Named after Platonic protagonist Crizia (known for squandering his fortune on lavishing jewellery and clothing upon the women in his life), Krizia quickly established a reputation for its skirts and exploring new developments in fabric technology. Part of the boom in Milanese design and Italian manufacturing in the 1980s and 1990s, Krizia retains a legacy of luxurious and sporty ready-to-wear in innovative fabrics with a hint of insouciant wit.

Mandelli died in 2015.
