Liam Payne is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction, of which rose to prominence following an audition for reality TV singing competition The X Factor in 2010. One Direction released five commercially successful albums, performed on four worldwide tours, and won multiple awards before their hiatus in 2016. Payne has worked with other producers to create remixes for songs by his band and for singer Cheryl Cole.
In 2016, Payne signed a recording deal with Capitol Records as a solo artist. In May 2017, Payne released Strip That Down as the lead single from his upcoming debut album. It peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, going certified platinum in both countries.
