Louise Goldin is a London-based knitwear designer. Having graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2001 with a BA in Fashion Knitwear, she went on to become head of design at a renowned Brazilian fashion house. She later returned to Central Saint Martins to study on the MA Knitwear course, showing her graduation collection during London Fashion Week in 2005 which was bought exclusively for Selfridges in London. Goldin champions all that is new and pioneering in knitting, defying tradition and creating powerful silhouettes and body contouring, continually researching new techniques and technologies meticulously, both in London and Italy where her factory is based. She has received a number of prestigious awards including BFC’s New Generation sponsorship, The Deutsche Bank’s Pyramid and the Chloé award. Accolades such as these have led to Goldin’s name growing considerably in recent seasons and both her and her work have been featured in numerous prominent fashion publications and sold in stores such as Harrods, Maria Luisa, L’Eclaireur and Galeries Lafayette. In 2010, Louise Goldin was announced as the winner of the BFC's Fashion Forward prize - the first time the entire award funding had been given to a single designer.
