Michael Blackburn is a film and TV editor based in California. Throughout his twenty-year plus career he has worked on a range of blockbuster films and independent documentaries including The Grudge, Sexy Beast, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Corpse Bride, Secret Window, Aviator, Kill Bill Vol.1 and Madagascar. In 2002, Blackburn's work was nominated for both the Key Art and Golden Trailer Awards, whilst his favourite works continue to be the trailer he cut for the award-winning skateboarding documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys in which he collaborated with writer and director Stacy Peralta. Commenting on his work, Blackburn notes: 'At its worst, editing is creative problem solving. At its best, it's just creative, and that's a pretty good job to have.' He previously worked at Ignition Creative in Santa Monica, and became Executive Creative Director at marketing and advertising agency Concept Arts in 2016.
