Pinny Grylls is a filmmaker born and based in London. After studying Anthropology and Archaeology at Oxford University, she and Rachel Millward co-founded the ‘Birds’ Eye View’ film festival showcasing the work by emerging women filmmakers. Following her departure from ‘Bird’s Eye View’, she went on to make the short films 'Human' and 'Blackout', winning a place on the 2004 Berlin Film Festival Talent Camp. In 2004 she wrote and directed the short film ‘Small Worlds’ starring Zoë Wanamaker.

Since 2005 Pinny has concentrated on directing documentaries. Her first short documentary ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ gained acclaim at the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation Festival BRITDOC in July 2006 and was featured in ‘Best of the Fest’ at Britspotting 2007 in Germany. Her next documentary ‘Peter and Ben’ was made through the UK Film Council’s Film London Digital Shorts Scheme and was nominated for The Silver Cub Award at the 2007 IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam).

Most recently Pinny directed the critically-acclaimed 'BRAVO!' a series of 4 x 3 Minute Wonders for Channel 4 about ‘The Bra’.
