Rebecca Wilson

Artist

Rebecca Wilson studied Ceramics at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and followed this with an MA in Ceramics at UWIC, Cardiff. She has exhibited her ceramics extensively both in this country and abroad, including as part of Collect at the Saatchi Gallery (2009–2011), Craft 2EU in Hamburg, and with Fife Contemporary Arts and Crafts as part of Hotpot: Art Food and People.

Having been shortlisted for the Zelli Porcelain Prize in London, and the National Sculpture Award at Bluecoat Display Centre as part of Liverpool’s year as City of Culture in 2008, her other awards received include the People’s Choice Award at the 2008 Belgian Ceramics Biennale, and the Benno Schotz Prize for Most Promising Young Sculptor (RSA & RGI). Her early work came about after a period of research and development funded by a Creative Development Grant from the Scottish Arts Council.
