Rosa-Johan Uddoh is an artist who lives and works in London. The aim of her artistic practice is to reach maximum self-esteem, inspired by Audre Lorde’s idea of radical self-love. She attempts this through making performances, friends, ceramics, speculative fan fiction, video and sound and running workshops. Through these she explores spatial agency, decolonisation and collective popular memory.
Much of Uddoh’s work is influenced by her architectural background, rooting stories in specific places and materials. She did a BA in Architecture at Cambridge University and recently graduated in MA Fine Art Media at The Slade School of Fine Art as a Sarabande: Lee Alexander McQueen scholar, after being chosen by Nick Knight OBE. Uddoh organised the Widening The Gaze conference, and is a New Contemporaries 2018 artist.
