Shun Watanabe

Shun Watanabe is a Japanese-born freelance stylist, previously fashion editor at Vogue Hommes Japan and Numéro Tokyo. Beginning his career as a stylist assistant at Vogue Nippon, Watanabe moved to New York in 2002 to pursue his career as a stylist, returning to Japan two years after where he has continued working since, becoming fashion editor for commons&sense and commons&sense man.

In addition to his editorial work, he has styled advertising and shows. From 2008-2012, he was fashion editor forVogue Hommes Japan with Nicola Formichetti. Following this, he joined Free magazine as Fashion Director from 2015, then Numéro Tokyo as Contributing Fashion Editor from 2016-2018.
Since then, he has been traveling around the world consistently as freelance stylist, fashion editor and brand consultant for several magazine and clients including Uniqlo, SHISEIDO and other leading brands. He launched his own lifestyle brand NEWSIAN in 2019.
