Sonnet Stanfill

Sonnet Stanfill is curator of 20th century and contemporary fashion at the V&A, where she has worked since 1999. Her exhibitions include Ossie Clark (2003), New York Fashion Now (2007) and co-curation of Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950 (2012). Her major 2014 exhibition The Glamour of Italian Fashion 1945-2014 travelled to several museums across the United States. Stanfill has published and lectured widely on varied aspects of fashion design. She holds an MA in the history of dress from the Courtauld Institute of Art and a BA in Art History from Smith College.  Before joining the V&A, Stanfill worked as a buyer for fashion and homeware companies in New York and San Francisco.
