Established in 1989, the Albert Kennedy Trust is the world's first service for homeless LGBTQ+ youth. The Albert Kennedy Trust is focused on prevention and early action, providing safe homes, advocacy, training and mentoring to young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment after coming out to their parents, caregivers and peers. In 2012, the Albert Kennedy Trust opens Purple Door, UK's first emergency safe house for LGBTQ+ youths. In 2017, the Trust provided 6075 nights of accommodation to vulnerable LGBT youths.
