Photographer Mauro Cocilio was born in Sardinia in 1971. He studied photography at both the European Institute of Design in Rome and Westminster College in London. In 1996 he won the Young Photography Award run by Creative Review and Kodak, which lead him to work for a variety of magazines including The Jewish Chronicle, i-D, Time Out and Positive Nation. In 2005, Mauro was named Runner-Up in the Independent American Express Fashion Photography competition and was commissioned to work for The Independent Magazine, Dazed & Confused and Source Magazine.
