  • About the Company

    • Who runs SHOWstudio?

      SHOWstudio is owned and directed by Nick Knight, who is involved in all aspects of its programming and running. The SHOWstudio team is made up of ten staff members who operate from a studio based in the Belgravia district of London. The studio comprises Design, Editorial, Production and Technical departments, and also the SHOWstudio Shop gallery space.

    • What is the purpose of SHOWstudio?

      SHOWstudio is a fashion website, founded and directed by Nick Knight. Since it began at the start of the new millennium, SHOWstudio has championed film and moving image as the ideal medium for fashion in the digital age, and has utilised online streaming and real-time reporting methods – including blogging and tweeting via multimedia-enabled mobile phone handsets – to deliver fashion live, as it happens.

  • Technical

    • What browser plugins do I need to view SHOWstudio?

      Our video players and some of our interactives require the Adobe Flash plugin. Additionally, some of our older interactives require the Adobe Shockwave plugin.

      If we use a special plugin within a project we'll provide a link within that project. We recommend you keep your plugins up to date for security reasons. We often use features that are only available in the latest versions.

  • General

    • I'm writing an essay on Nick Knight. Where can I get more information?

      Nick Knight took part in a live In Camera broadcast in May 2006 in which he answered questions from SHOWstudio viewers and numerous key industry players. A transcript and video of the interview is available on site, covering a broad range of topics such as his photographic career, influences and inspirations, SHOWstudio and his personal life. You can also view Nick’s biography in the Contributors section and view his past projects and fashion films in the Project Archive. His work has been included in numerous publications, namely Skinhead (October 1982), Flora (June 2003), Nicknight (December 1995) and Nick Knight (December 2009).

      We are unable to give out contact details for our contributors. Many of the biographies will contain a link to their website or contact details for their agent or representative.

      Strictly no images may be used in any form from the SHOWstudio website without prior written permission. Please contact press@showstudio.com for further information, detailing the publication or website where the images will be used.

      None of Nick Knight's images and/or films may be used in any form without prior written permission. Please contact press@showstudio.com for further information, detailing the publication or website where the image/film will be reproduced and any other relevant information.

    • We are interested in covering a SHOWstudio live stream on our website, could you send images and info?

  • Internships and Assisting

    • Does SHOWstudio offer internships and how can I apply?

      SHOWstudio offers a variety of internship opportunities:

      Editorial Internship - assisting our Associate Editor Lou Stoppard, this role will suit a student or graduate from a fashion degree who has a strong interest in journalism. This role requires strong organisational, communication and administration skills and an excellent command of the written word.

      Design Internship - working closely with SHOWstudio design and technical staff, this role will suit a student or graduate from a graphics or photography related degree. This internship requires applicants to possess a superb working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and associated graphic programs.

      Editing Internship - working with our editor Marie Schuller, this role will suit a student or graduate with a strong film background a keen interest in fashion. An excellent working knowledge of Final Cut Pro is essential.

      Gallery Internship - assisting our Shop Director Carrie Scott and Assistant Director Niamh White, this role will suit a student or graduate from an art history or curatorial background or degree. An interest in both fine art and fashion is a must, along with superb organisation, communication and administration skills.

      We regret we are unable to offer internships for students or graduates interested in a career in styling, or someone looking for specific photographic experience.

    • How do I apply to assist Nick Knight?

      Nick Knight has one full-time First Assistant alongside a team of photographic assistants and runners who help on specific shoots. If you are interested in applying to assist as part of Nick Knight's team, please contact assist@showstudio.com providing a CV, covering letter and portfolio of relevant work alongside your availability. Regrettably due to volume of requests we cannot specify a timescale for response.

  • Submissions and Collaboration

    • SHOWstudio is always excited to see work from new designers and artists, and has a rich history of supporting and encouraging young up-and-coming talent. If you have work you would like to show to the SHOWstudio team, please contact us on feedback@showstudio.com or via the Contact page with relevant information and a portfolio or link to examples of your work. Fashion designers should mark this for the attention of Editor Lou Stoppard; artists, filmmakers or photographers for the attention of Shop Director Carrie Scott.

    • Does SHOWstudio accept submissions?

      Submissions of imagery or films for inclusion on SHOWstudio are encouraged and are considered on an individual basis. Please contact us on feedback@showstudio.com or via the Contact page with an outline of your submission, including as much information as possible and images, film or URLs where relevant.

    • How can I collaborate with SHOWstudio on a project?

      SHOWstudio is always enthusiastic about the possibilities of creative collaboration.     • How do I submit an artwork to be exhibited?

      The SHOWstudio Shop shows are curated by Shop Director Carrie Scott. If you have work which you feel may be of interest, please contact shop@showstudio.com outlining details of your work, images of specific items if required and a link to your portfolio. Regrettably due to volume of requests we cannot specify a timescale for response.

    • How do I purchase an artwork?

      Pieces can be purchased online via the SHOWstudio website, via telephone or in person at Motcomb Street. We accept cash, cheque, bank transfer and major credit cards excluding American Express.

    • How do I find more information on an item?

      If you are interested in purchasing an item, please email shop@showstudio.com with any queries and our gallery representatives will be happy to assist. Alternatively, the gallery is open Monday-Friday 11:00-18:00 UK time for enquires in person or via telephone.

    • A piece of work I am interested in shows as 'Sold'. What can I do?

      Please contact shop@showstudio.com with details of the item you are interested in, and one of our gallery representatives will be in touch.

    • Can I purchase Nick Knight prints?

      A selection of Nick Knight images are available as limited-edition fine-art prints. For further enquiries please contact shop@showstudio.com and address your email to Shop Director Carrie Scott.

  • Legal

    • How is my personal information used by SHOWstudio?

      SHOWstudio does not rent or sell your personal information. Neither does it share personal information about you without your consent except to provide products or services you've requested. SHOWstudio may share demographic information with business partners, such as '53% of users who regularly use SHOWstudio are between 18 and 25', or the like. No personally identifiable information will ever be used without your permission (i.e. we will ask you for a quote or testimonial).
