Name your favorites and why.
"Welcome to the Motor City"-W Magazine 9/2006, photographed by Bruce Weber, featured Kate Moss and Detroit locals.
Why?
It's among one of my favorites. It's got a gritty feel, beautiful documentary photography, but in the context of fashion, Kate looked beautiful without artifacts. The photos have such a real feel, as if I could reach over the page and touch the skin and I could get a sense of the city, the people, the good and bad.
One of my favourites is "Sleeping Beauty" for The Face (2000) by Miles Aldridge.
I think the models he uses are stunning and the photos have true meaning and have that underlying discomfort to them but you just can't take yours eyes from them.
Mert and Marcus did an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G shoot ages ago in Pop of Kate Moss in angel wings with her tits out, and loads of young models with clown makeup on and stuff like that. I can't google it because I'm on a wierd computer but you definately should, stunning shots.
Also the picture didn't appeal untilI saw the flys, I hope they're real! How brilliant!
This is one of the best fashion editorials. I love the fact that I could see Kate's skin glows, and even a bit sweaty, not so retouched looking, I love the tone, the mood, and the fact that the backdrop is black. Kate Moss' face and body language is best I think for the type of documentary/street photography style, because she looks like a normal person who happens to be attractive and photogenic, and not like an amazon model.
Model, Lisa Taylor; Arthur Elgort photographer.
I don't see this type of fashion photographs very often nowadays, but I guess they are difficult to capture-the tone, texture of the fabrics, and the expression of the model. This one picture tells a thousand words about the generation of women in that era. Fashion photographs rarely depict this feel of life style fashion shots now.

I absolutely love the aesthetics of simplicity in photography and that sense of being taken beyond the visual realm to greatly enjoy a powerfully poetic image ..... the art of the sublime at its best!
