In the US, some schools have banned Easter Eggs and bunnies, to not upset some parents who have different beliefs-has the Western society gone mad? Why tiptoeing over everything?

Right you are KaWai !....I wonder why in God's name they ( the thinkers of such ideas ) call on people to be tolerant towards non-western cultures....when such ridiculous and rather offensive measures only seem to come to life in order to please people from cultures who are or seem intolerant towards the costumes and culture of the country that have welcomed them in ( in this case the USA )....!...does it make sense to anyone at all ...??
I believe that... ' When in Rome do as the Romans do'....or at least show respect.....I wonder if people would consider OK for a westerner to go to another country and disrespect the local's people culture or costums....I for one would certainly be and feel ashamed to do so!....
As I see it...such measures only create division...furthers intolerance ... frustration and animosity towards the people that is suppose to make happy or please !....
Welcome to the year 2007....:)

By the way ever read about that primary school in the Netherlands where out of respect for certain way of life... children are not allowed to make drawings or sing in the class...!!....Totally bizarre and extremely suffocating...!

I find it hiypocrytical when we in the western world use the excuse for wars in order to give democracy and freedom to other countries, whilst taking it away from our own people, creating an un healthy and paranoid population in the process.
The chocolate I ate for you all was Mars voluse, or just great anyway thanks guys and girls.

...as I understand from good friends...the atmosphere has changed ...due to heavy outside forces and in trying to keep the balance between freedom for everyone and respect for other culture's 'sensibilities'....I'm not so sure that is realistically possible.....or wise... to compromise its own believes in order to please others who disagree with the way the Netherlands have kept its identity and traditions of being a very liberal country who welcomes everyone to enjoy its freedoms....since the time of the Spanish Inquisition.....a very tricky situation....as I see it....

Well spoken Galileo.
No body, But nobody expects, the spanish inquisition.
And I think that you are right.
Shock cultural changes have caused a lot of problems across the world.
And do we in the Western world have the right to do so in any case.
Not to mention very runny chocolate.Joke?
