SHOWstudio partners with NIKE to challenge established and emerging artists, designers and creatives to devise new work inspired by the relationship between art and football.

A team of 11 selected artists from around the world, including Gareth Pugh, Alice Hawkins, Sølve Sundsbø and Rebecca and Mike, have been invited by SHOWstudio and Nick Knight to create new artwork that represents ‘the art of football’. The results will be shown at a prestigious exhibition in Basel during the city’s art fair in June 2008, coinciding with the launch of the European Football Championships. As an additional incentive, one final winner's work will be featured on a new, limited edition series of Nike Dunks.

The field is open until Sunday 18 May to everyone to submit their artwork inspired by the beautiful game. Nick Knight and SHOWstudio will then select a final 11 to be exhibited at the 1/1: Art of Football show in Basel, June 2008.

Exhibition Gallery Now Live!

If you didn't quite manage to jet-set it to Basel for the art community's own World Cup at the beginning of the month, fear not! Our 1-1 Art of Football exhibition may be over, but you can still enjoy it from the comfort of your own computer screen thanks to our Exhibition Gallery. The latest addition to our 1-1 project is a series of panoramic views that allow you to delve - virtually - into every nook and cranny of the exhibition space.
