Beasting, Nick Knight and Simon Foxton's intense photoshoot of last February is brought to film at last, edited by Ruth Hogben. Stills from the shoot will also be displayed in the Project Gallery. As an accompaniment to the April issue of Arena Homme+, the cover of which can now be seen peering out from magazine racks across the land (and allegedly from the top shelf in certain outlets too) the image depicts the beast of six arms that Nick and Simon captured during their two day shoot, a brawny spectacle that wears the outré headpieces and garments of John Galliano's A/W 07 menswear collection. The film and photoshoot, both visual paeans to hypermasculinity, manage to blur the boundaries between physical combat and sexual frenzy, taking us through the mysterious rituals of exclusive masculine space - a domain in which war-impulse, erotic charge and horseplay become indistinguishable.

If you were watching yesterday's antics on set and are expecting more of the same today, then get set for a change of tone. Most of Galliano's 'hairy mammoths' have now been captured in what Simon described this morning as the more 'aggressive' sequence of the story. Today's task will be to balance that with something gentler. We just watched them manoeuvre the camera into place a minute ago, so there should be half-dressed men on your computer screen before long...

If you're tuning in to our live stream today you may notice your vision going blurry from time to time. Don't worry, it's not you or the SHOWstudio camera but a Vaseline filter serving to protect your fragile mind. Apparently it's going to get quite rude.

Invited by Arena Homme + magazine to photograph the highlights of John Galliano’s outlandish Autumn/Winter ’07-8 collection, Nick Knight and Simon Foxton will be in the studio tomorrow and Thursday, staging one of the explosive action shoots that are the hallmark of their longstanding creative collaboration. From 11:00hrs (UK time) tomorrow, the cameras will be streaming live coverage of Galliano’s prehistoric fashions, giving those with a penchant for woolen Minotaurs, skintight briefs and Samurai swordsmen a perfect opportunity to indulge their tastes for the primeval and the preposterous in equal measure.
