With Corporate Aesthetics, I wanted to emulate the high production values of slick 'fill' or 'sting' breaks, which are those annoying little bursts of eye candy that add place and dynamism to our televisual enjoyment.

I have felt patronised by their snide, inclusive sense of ebullience and highly polished exteriors. The repetition becomes tortuous. Two words to our sponsors - fuck off. I don't want to belong. I have that twee sense of autonomy and I just can't shake it off. It is no surprise that I am an anachronistic lo-fi fan and seldom watch TV.

I collaborated with Sam Jeffers from Fridge on the soundtrack in as much as I had a phone-moan and he got the picture. I love the way his piece builds and goes nowhere, like sex without love. The edit is by Jess Scott-Hunter who empathised with my contention. We are working on some consumer landscapes next.

Since making this, I have been introduced to some incredible Trance tracks which operate in a similar way to this piece. Layering frenetic arpeggios, eerie reverbed-out ambience and upfront driving drum programming, I feel moved in a monumental way. It's a strange feeling, kind of religious. I like it.
