For the sixth installation of our pattern download series Gareth Pugh contributed the template for the trademark inflatable balloons first featured in his Central Saint Martins graduation collection. Like many of Pugh’s designs, these bold fabric spheres are inspired by graphic shape and dramatic proportion, walking a fine line between outré fashion statement and sartorial performance art.

Design by Christine Peters, Hertfordshire. Thanks to the market stall man for selling the lace cheap! 'Made from lace found on a market stall. Once balloon has deflated, shall turn it into a lamp. It's two times smaller than the original pattern because my printer wouldn't print anything larger, but I like it the way it is.'Design by Christine Peters, Hertfordshire.
