Our ninth Design Download pattern comes from Giles Deacon's Autumn/Winter 2007 archive. The Troubadour dress - originally constructed in deep emerald double duchess silk - features a regal square neckline, puff sleeves and a saucy, thigh-skimming hemline. Simply download the pattern - designed to fit a standard UK size 10 - and pick your fabrics, colours and trimmings, then get to work crafting your own unique version of the frock. Deacon recommends using a fabric which has some structure to it, ideal choices would be heavy weight silk, denim or leather.
We will be celebrating the artistic potential of this pattern with an amazing competition. Once you've constructed your take on the dress, simply submit high quality images (Instagrams welcome) of your creation to SHOWstudio via Twitter (@SHOWstudio #DesignDownload) and/or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) for the chance to see your work displayed online in our submissions gallery. Nick Knight and Giles Deacon will review the entries and select their favourite, which will then become the star of a specially commissioned SHOWstudio fashion film! Who wouldn't want to see one of their creations captured exquisitely on camera at SHOWstudio?
The last date for competition submissions is Friday 15 March 2013 at midnight. Let your imagination run wild with Giles now...
