The eighth pattern in our Design Download series celebrates the creativity, wit and invention of master milliner Stephen Jones. A leading figure in international fashion for three decades, Jones' contribution is a prime example of the exuberance, glamour and formidable technique that characterises his hats: a playful exaggeration of the classic beret, titled (wait for it) 'Nice Package'.

A 'cut and sew' creation that requires no specialist millinery materials or training to realise its stunning form, Jones' hat is an exaggeration on the classic beret. Inspired by his own lilac hatboxes and drawn from his Autumn/Winter 2011 own-label collection, Jones titles this tour de force of millinery invention 'Nice Package'.
Download the pattern (instructions included in the download), make up the hat and then execute your own 'fashion brief': style and photograph the hat and send us the images to be published in our Design_Download gallery.
