‘Riot Now’

by Johnny Blueeyes and Seth Kirby

I got a call from the amazing Miss Ana Matronic one day, in 2003. Ana said, 'Johnny, my boyfriend Seth was supposed to come to Russia; there's been a bit of a mess up with the Visa, and he is now unable to come. Is there any chance he could come and stay with you for a few days in London?'

I said, 'Sure Ana, send him over! It would be my pleasure.' (I love a house guest!)

Anyway, Seth turns up that evening; we started working together within half an hour of meeting each other. In those few days, we made over 150 mini-films on my mobile phone. This then led on to our magical collaboration.

'RIOT NOW' is a collage of private performances, filmed and edited by Seth Kirby, that were made both in London and New York.

Dressing up, and the love of fashion in it's widest sense, has always been an integral part of my world since I was a child, and I have always been conscious of the power of costume, and how that can affect you and the world that you inhabit.

In it's core energy, 'RIOT NOW' is about personal freedom, and the idea of 'Riot' as being a personal, emotional, extraordinary need to be free. I believe that if people feel truly free within themselves, the world would be a more accepting, beautiful and enchanting place.

You'd better start getting dressed up, my dears!!...to beauty, to spirit, to love, to fierceness, to freedom, and beyond!
