PSP Amaze Me

Inspired by art director Alexey Brodovitch's brief to photographer Richard Avedon — simply to 'amaze me' - SHOWstudio's collaboration with PSP asked you, the public to respond to a brief set by a pen of six leading creatives. Viewers had the chance to come along to one of our micro-studio booths and make a 30 second video pitch, the best of which feature here.

Although Isabella wanted to choose her long time friend Stephen Jones, she finally settled on Joe Richards, who described his entry as being constructed in the backgarden of his God Mother's house using a dust sheet and a binliner. He goes on to say, "I wanted it to be really disposable looking as if James Bond might use it once to escape from a tricky situation and then throw it away afterwards in a very suave manner. The change in emotion occurs whilst practicing this physical activity". Isabella thought Joe answered her brief perfectly.

‘I am always looking for the next 'face of fashion'. My work depends on finding extraordinary girls in ordinary places. Position yourself 10 paces from the screen, next walk back and let me see your 'catwalk', then turn to camera and tell me your name.’

    Incentive

The best performance will be offered a 'Go-see' appointment at Storm models. A truly amazing participant will be considered for representation by Storm Models.

‘There are 60,000,000 people in this country. What makes you so special? Think of yourself as a brand. What can you say about yourself? What qualities do you have? Why should I pick you over everybody else? Do something in 30 seconds or less to amaze me.’

    Incentive

The winner will either get a placement at the thefinktank or I will personally help them put their advertising book together in order to get a job in advertising.

About

Amaze Me was inspired by art director Alexey Brodovitch's brief to photographer Richard Avedon — simply to 'amaze me'.

The challenge asked you, the public, to respond to a brief set by a panel of six leading creative industry figures. Viewers had the chance to come along to one of our micro-studio booths and make a 30-second video pitch.

The best six entries won a PSP™(Playstation®Portable), plus an exclusive opportunity to work with the panellist they attempted to amaze. The winning videos are showcased exclusively online here.
