Designer Edward Crutchley and director Ollie Evans collaborate on a haunting new fashion film showcasing Crutchley's S/S 16 collection. Inspired by the idea of pilgrimage, both historical and modern, the film juxtaposes the traditional holy man with a surfer- one on a search for enlightenment, the other on a quest for the perfect wave.
‘When I started talking to Ollie about these themes, he immediately hit on the perfect idea of a tableaux vivant inspired by renaissance religious painting. We both knew this would hit the right mix between the stillness and beauty of the film composition and the brightness and simplicity of the clothing. The mix of these elements creates a strong, modern image- everything that Edward Crutchley is about,’ explains Crutchley.
