> Project Description
Last Updated Friday 8th December 2006
SHOWstudio is working on a '12 days of Christmas' video project in collaboration with Swarovski and twelve of our most creative fashion friends. Initial tests for a joint Christmas card for the two organisations proved that the act of decorating a photographic print (by Nick Knight) with crystals was often as visually compelling as the finished product. In true SHOWstudio ‘making of’ spirit, we have therefore asked twelve people (some pairs) to come into the SHOWstudio premises over three days –7, 8 & 11 December 2006- to decorate that original print with Swarovski crystals in a design of their choosing.
In addition to webcasting the live event, each contribution will be filmed from above and the footage will be edited into a special film that will be offered on SHOWstudio on each of the twelve days of Christmas (26 December – 6 January). Starting 7 December, set up day, watch inspired hands at work (whilst enjoying a mince pie or two!) to get a sneak preview of the final result by designers including fashion designers Giles Deacon, Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab, artist Alexis Marguerite Teplin, set designer Fred Butler, designers Rebecca and Mike and stylist Simon Foxton.
The 12th Day of Christmas
On the twelfth and final day of Christmas Gareth Pugh’s contribution completes our collection of films that make up the SHOWstudio ‘12 Days of Christmas’.
