Materials: Hand painted smocking (upper bodice) screen printed polyester (lower skirt piece), calico (bodice base)

This hand crafted dress was created by David Bradley for Nick Knight and Alister Mackie's AnOther magazine Autumn/Winter 2011 Punkature editorial and modelled by Saskia de Brauw. A recent graduate of the Royal College of Art in Textile Design, Bradley hand screen printed fifty metres of fabric with three different sized polka dots on the set during the course of the shoot. His fabric was smocked for the bodice and then machine pleated. Finally Bradley hand lashed the remaining lengths of fabric to the bodice block. The dress features in Knight's process film which documents the inspiration behind the project and its gradual realisation.
