Brothers Francois and Bernard Baschet are the famous originators of the Sound Sculpture and many other innovative musical instruments. Combining their two practices, Francois is a sculptor, Bernard is an engineer, the brothers created this aluminium Sound-Sculpture Robe for William Klein's 1966 film Qui Êtes-Vous, Polly Maggoo? which was a satire on the contemporary fashion industry. Fashioned out of sheets of folded aluminium, the robe is at once haute-couture and 'body instrument', whose music is 'playable' through movement.
