Tim Roda uses a camera to record the one particular moment in time that balances between memories and constructed commentaries, producing a documentation of "real" events for his own family. His photographs capture moments of ambiguity, allowing the work to be understood in several layers. Roda strives to produce a sensation that makes people both familiar and uneasy about the incongruence of life's experiences. Every captured scene is first envisioned in the photographer's mind and then played out by his family, creating works filled with metaphorical reverberations of his family history and childhood memories.
