Championed by the likes of Daphne Guinness and Lady Gaga, Tokyo-based designer Noritaka Tatehana creates hand-crafted boots inspired by high-ranking 'Oiran' courtesans from the Japanese Edo period. 

Drawing from the traditional crafts of his cultural heritage, the self-taught Tatehana designs shoes that are propelled from the everyday into the realm of high-fashion. Each piece is meticulously sewn, dyed, cut and weaved exclusively by the Japanese designer.
