Today we launch the latest in our ground-breaking Design_Download series - offering a unique selection of designer patterns for download by the public at large. Appropriately, on the closing day of the Parisian haute couture calendar, our eighth Design_Download - and first ever accessory - comes from the millinery maestro Stephen Jones, a fixture in the fashion firmament since the 1980s, the man who reinvigorated millinery for the late twentieth century, and the crowning glory of many an haute couture show, not least the last fifteen years of Christian Dior. Jones' contribution is drawn from his Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, 'Topsy Turvy', a cut-and-sew creation based on the classic beret that requires no specialist millinery materials or training to realise its stunning form. In a typical touch of tongue-in-cheek Jones humour, this bundle of joy is titled 'Nice Package' - a vast understatement if ever there was one. Download the pattern today and handcraft your own piece of haute millinery in a truly exceptional combination of high fashion and egalitarian DIY.
Nick Knight photographed Erin O'Connor in Jones' original version of 'Nice Package' but we're keen to see your own interpretations! Follow our Design_Download brief, craft your own creation and submit your images via email - firstname.lastname@example.org - or Twitter for a chance to be featured on-site in our Submissions Gallery.
