Join SHOWstudio SHOP this Friday 3rd February 2012 (tomorrow!) for the latest in our series of live performances for our current exhibition ‘In Your Face'. Harold Offeh and Eloise Calandre will perform a series of pieces which explore concepts of portraiture and its capacity to challenge or provoke.
Smile, beginning at 13:00 GMT, plays with the concept of this gesture of friendship and approval by transforming it to a painful 34 minute endurance test.
At 15:00 GMT, Calandre builds on the provocative theme of the latter performance, exploring the potentials and possibilities of facial expression and using Calandre's own face as a screen for a re-projection of her features.
Finally from 17:00 GMT, Offeh will build on his existing body of work Covers, currently on show as part of In Your Face, recreating the cover of The Rolling Stones' Exile On Main Street by appearing as '3Ball Charlie', a thirties freakshow performer.
View each performance at 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00 this Friday 3rd February 2012 streaming from SHOWstudio.com
Work by Harold Offeh and amongst other outstanding artists is displayed as part of our ‘In Your Face’ exhibition at 1-9 Bruton Place, 11am-6pm, Mon - Fri until 9th March 2012.
