Celebrating spring's flirtation with Fringe, our latest project showcases the threaded, shredded and tasselled layers of this season's foremost creations bristling in unadulterated movement. Shot during Nick Knight's 'Fringe Festival' cover story for the March 2009 collections issue of British Vogue, Fringed celebrates fashion in motion on the unmistakable form of our Let There Be Light star Lily Donaldson. Featuring stunning fashions from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton and Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga, Fringed offers an unparalleled opportunity to see next season spring into vibrant animation.

I can see how this beautiful flower was an inspiration for the shoot "Fringed". Looking forward to seeing the story in Vogue. The "Unbelievable fashion" story in decembers' UK Vogue was absolutely stunning and one of my favorites of your recent work. In particular the shots of Chaylayan's pieces made my head spin, and is keeping me excited until I come to see his show at the Design Museum. Thanks for sharing!

I don't get this, showstudio have turned into something...I don't know. I miss a prof of that this is actually a space for experimentation for fashion-people, and not just L'Oreal-clips with, well, better lightning and styling (I'll give you that) and some random music put upon. Come on...

in the last couple of weeks or so there has been a film of their Fashion DJs event, an interview with Hussein Chalayan, two fashion films of Lily Donaldson, the mens wear show reports , and as far as I can tell they are in the midst of moving premises. I really think praise is in order Tor. And with SHOWstudio you never know what is going to be just round the corner.
Do you have any suggestions ? As I think there are the first signs of a viewers projct brewing...

just read the blog below and they are about to add video of Antony Price and an exclusive down loadable pattern of his.
If you look at the webcams there are only about six people who work there, so in my mind they are doing an amazing job to keep all this going!

every fashion-blog or designwebsite out there with respect for themself have a featurette on the Chalayan-exhibition, and those questions have been asked him hundreds of time before.
It's not like I'm saying that I hate the site or anything. I just think it has become rather safe-playing and glossy. Is it THAT interesting to watch a Vmagazine shoot with a song here and there? The Margiela-make up your mind-video is the nicest video I've here lately. And that one by Peter Jensen. The rest feels like an old song stuck on repeat. It's eyecandy and everything, but more than that? hm...
I don't get this fashion way of working, where you one season put out a strong message like hey! I use ordinary people! I use only black models! and then the next season, it's the same old story again.
And then, the commercials came on the site, I think people get their rent paid for working here.
But at least, one can always go scrolling through the fantastic archive.

Loved the film, fantastic! Interestingly, to me it wasn't about the clothes, she could've been wearing a potato sack. To me it was about energy and exuberance. It's fun to watch because Lily seems to be having so much fun doing it. She seems to love to dance and throw herself around and I think that joy gives the piece it's kinetic energy. Really it might be more of a portrait of Lily.

Unadulterated movement is the only way to view fashion and in some cases, weddings. I am currently involved in a short film by Dr Rand Pink where the bride and the maids of honor are wearing Louis Vuitton white fringed creations. The groom, his best man and friends are wearing white tuxedos with clam diggers The maids of honor are all in go go cages on each side of the aisle. The couple.that is getting married are in the recording industry The bride wanted to express her life through the constant movement of the dress as being adaptive, everchanging and never static The groom added that he looks at his bride in the dress as a prequil to the threaded, shredded and tasselled condition his wife will be in on their honeymoon night. The wedding film is titled ShinDig.The live cd and dvd features music by The Virgins It will be shown at The Whitney Museum in New York August 14-19 09. don't forget to SHAKE IT.
